OXYGEN FIRST AID IN DIVING ACCIDENTS
Since the beginning of your SCUBA training you have learned that if a diving injury occurs an important first aid measure is to administer oxygen. It is so important that it has become the standard of care in diving.
Unfortunately, current statistics show that even though oxygen is often available, many divers lack the knowledge and experience necessary to properly administer oxygen to a diver in need. This course will teach you the proper techniques to administer oxygen to an injured diver.
COURSE PREREQUISITES
- There is no minimum age
- Recommended training in CPR and First Aid within
past 24 months
- Read the DAN Oxygen First Aid for Scuba Diving Injuries handbook (you will receive this when you enroll in the course)
MATERIALS (included in the course)
- Student Handbook (you will receive this when you enroll in the course)
- DAN Course Completion Card (you must renew every two years)
- DAN Wall Certificate
PADI DISTINCTIVE SPECIALTY
You can receive a PADI distinctive specialty rating in conjunction with this PADI approved course. The $30.00 administration fee covers the PADI certification card and picture. This is a two year certification and it requires you to update your knowledge and skills at the end of two years.
